I think anyone who knows me knows that I love to travel.
There is something so magical about being away from home, in a completely new environment, immersed in a different culture, and surrounded by the unknown. I thrive in this kind of setting. And I welcome any opportunity to hop on a plane and just GO. I love getting out of town. I love reading travel books, and looking up the best places to eat, and the best of what a city or country has to offer.
As I hopped on a plane back to Taiwan on August 29, 2012, I had no idea what to expect. I had high hopes and big dreams. And although there was a lot of uncertainty, I knew one thing was for sure: Taiwan would be home again.
I had no idea the whirlwind of events that would very quickly lead me away from Taiwan almost as soon as I landed. And I had no clue that I would only end up living there for 2 months in total. Technically, Taiwan is still home base at the moment as all my belongings are in a room in a house that I share with my two best friends. But I have been travelling non-stop since November 7th. And to be honest, at this very moment, I am DREADING going back.
On the other hand, there is always a bright side. And due to completely unexpected events and meeting the right blend of incredible people, I have had the opportunity to spend the last 2 months travelling the world.
So, although my job didn't provide much professional happiness in 2012, I was able to save a sum of money that allows me to hide from the real world for a while.
Currently, I find myself in Dublin. And I think Madrid is next.
