It's been nearly 4 months since I last blogged. And let's face it, 2012 didn't break any records on # of posts either.
But we're in a brand new year, and thanks to my obsessive compulsive habit of constantly checking my credit card bills, I noticed I was charged my yearly Typepad fee a few days ago. So, instead of calling Typepad and requesting my $90 back, I have decided to give this another try.
2012, in a nutshell, was a year of growth and a year or ups and downs. Looking back, I can't really decipher if there were more ups, or more downs, but it ended on a huge positive note, so lets leave it at that.
Yesterday, I celebrated my 31st birthday in Dublin, Ireland. Normally, I make a big deal about my birthday, hoping for a big celebration and some fancy dinner of sorts. But for some reason, all I wanted to do yesterday was sit in my pajamas and eat junk food while watching movies. So, after going out for an amazing lunch in town and brief tour of Trinity College, I rushed back home and got comfy. I spent my birthday, curled up under blankets, eating pizza, drinking Coke, and watching tv. I skipped out on the fancy dinner, and the usual group outing, and just focused on soaking in the peaceful moments of the day. I hope this simple start to my 31st year is a foreshadowing that this year will be just that: simple, low key, and uncomplicated. Hopefully the drama has ended, the anxiety has subsided, and the ups and downs are now just distant memories of my past.
I'm excited to see what 2013 has in store for me. Let's do this!
Yay nattie! Here's to a new year full of promise!
