This past weekend, I decided I needed some alone time. So, as soon as I got off work, I got in my car and rushed home and was sitting on my bed by 6:30pm. First of all, this was a huge accomplishment! Especially when I think back on the last few weeks of my hectic work life. But while on vacation I decided to make some changes in my work schedule. I decided to work reasonable hours and to start saying no to new projects when I felt overwhelmed. And last week, that really worked for me. I had a semi-busy, not overly hectic, rather quiet week: AND I LOVED IT.
So, I decided to embrace the word NO in other aspects of my life too. I decided that this past weekend that if anyone asked for my time that I would simply say NO. And you know what? I had the best weekend EVER!
I was able to sit in my room, in silence, and do the things that I'd been wanting to do for weeks. I caught on Project Life, I cleaned up the pile of clothes on my dresser, I ironed the shirts that needed to be ironed, I caught up on tv shows, I organized my closet, and just put my life back in order. I only left my house twice. Once to go to a family lunch. And the second time to get a very calming and relaxing massage. I think I had forgotten the important of alone time.
