Oh my, what a day! You know when you have one of those days that you never stop moving? You run from point a to point b and every minute of your day is jam-packed. Yep, that was the kind of day I had. Except there was one singular moment where I did stop moving...and that was the 5 seconds where my foot was stuck underneath a Toyota Camry.
I'm sure you're wondering how this happened. It's really hard to explain unless you're standing next to me so I can reenact the ridiculous moment when the car decided to drive forward right onto my right foot. It was so bad that I had to bang on the car's hood to let the driver know to PLEASE BACK UP, because my foot was straight up STUCK and I had no way of moving it. Yes, it was THAT bad.
As I drove off, the first thing that crossed my mind was: "of course this happens to ME of all people." I have such strange luck in Taiwan. And then, as the shock of the moment wore off, the pain started setting in. The good news is, that it's probably only severely bruised and I have no broken bones to report. Thank god.
In any case, I'm leaving Taipei soon. Temporarily, but still excited to explore new horizons. Taipei is still my home base for now, but for the next month, you can catch me in Shanghai. I leave on Saturday. Maybe I'll have better luck there. Staying positive and optimistic.
cannot believe a car rolled over your foot. LOL. only you, nat!!
