happy chinese new years

today. inside dolce and gabbana. rocking the new bag. and my favorite boots. love those chandeliers and that chair too.

today we are headed to one of our favorite restaurants to eat with matt's family for Chinese New Years. It's a big day here. Sorta how Christmas is back home. I can't wait to experience all the festivities. Especially the red envelopes (which are usually filled with money). So 新年快樂 to all of you! Back soon.

hope

• it feels strange being so far away from home today
• especially since I used to call Washington DC home. 
• i will have to settle for watching it at 1am local time on CNN. 
• had i been home, i think i would have faced the crowds to witness history 
• although the thought of being manhandled by millions is quite scary 
• i am hopeful for change, but i know it won't happen immediately  
• nor will it happen in the near future... and that is ok
• but i do know that our new president is capable of great things
• and i hope, for the sake of our great country, he does not let us down 
• and although i don't plan to come home anytime soon 
• i hope that when I do, he is still our president 
• and that is still inspiring others like he does now 
• so cheers to our new president. 
• cheers to change. 
• and cheers to hope. 
• because sometimes, hope is all we have.   

bubbling inside my head

• I bought a bike over the weekend 
• I got the BEST 2 hour massage last night 
• The Office, Season 3 is awesome
• I can't find tampons to save my life
• My favorite nail polish color is OPI Ink 
• I don't need to wear a bra, but I still do. 
• I can't wait for Chinese New Year vacation
• I would do anything for some sour patch kids  
• I miss taking pictures and writing in journals.  
• I think it might be time for another v-blog

• from 8am-2pm my day looks pretty similar to the photo above
• except its usually not one of my friends pretending to teach the class 
• i miss that friend more than I ever thought I would
• because all i drink now is tea, coffee hurts my stomach like whoa 
• i might not like working in finance, but deep down i am a true finance geek who loves to make budget spreadsheets and analytical pie charts
• i can write about 650-700 characters. my goal is 2000.  
• facebook is both good and bad. addicting and lame. all in one. 
• i made a new friend. and she speaks spanish. so awesome. 
• i love the new leather smell of my lv handbag 
• my hair has been doing this 40s flip thing and i don't like it one bit.  
• my ankle gave out last night, while wearing heels, and people laughed.
• after i finish typing, i plan to paint my fingernails dark purple.

• I feel bad for not blogging. For lots of reasons, but mostly because I just got the typepad bill for 2009. And if I'm paying for it, I should use it, right?
• I didn't blog because being home was a mixture of good and bad. I rather not explain. 
• I am very, very happy to be back in Taiwan. Is it weird that I missed speaking Chinese? 
• My new school kicks ass. It was worth all the hassle I had to go through in order to get in the program, visa issues, unforeseen expenses, extra tuition, etc. I am tre happy.
• It is frikkin freezing inside my house. Hence the thermal + hoodie + blanket + hot tea combo. 
• I made a quilt top in one day. I love working under pressure. 
• I cut my hair a a few days ago but no one can tell because I wear my hair up every. single. day.  
• I love asian veggies more than american veggies.   
• Although I usually don't like the odd numbered years, I have a feeling 2009 is going to be fantastic.
• I am getting older in 2 days and I can't quite decide how I feel about it.  
• I got a Mac for Christmas and can we just say LOVE. Who wants to I-chat?
